The trim has come between us.

So today we did a LOT of shopping. As I mentioned the Home Depot was honoring the 11% back from Menards, so we went and got everything else (I am sure that is an exaggeration) that we could think of for the house before the sale ended. But before all that happened, we went to Mamma Vicki's Coney Island for breakfast. It's not fancy, but they serve a full breakfast for 2.99, and it 's hard to beat. 9.50 for two breakfasts and two coffee's. Isn't that crazy?

After spent over three hours at the Home Depot It felt like a week! I was so thirsty by the time we left I felt like we'd been wandering in the Sahara! Seriously. That much time in a home improvement store can take a lot out of a person. They should consider putting a hot dog stand in there somewhere, maybe between electrical and flooring, a little oasis to revive all us exhausted shoppers. But anyway we had a long list, and I think we got most everything on it. Some were easy decisions, like the bathtub, and electrical outlets. Some were harder, like the toilets, (we were trying them out in the store to see which was most comfortable), door knobs (Yep, who would have thought door knobs would be a tough decision? Not me.), and recessed light covers. We also got ceiling fans for the bedrooms, trim, drywall, new lights for outside the house, a vanity and some other stuff I can't remember at the moment. We went up to the register with 4 shopping carts! We had to make two trips to the house to drop stuff off, and then we had to go to Menards to exchange cabinets, and pick one up, and a door. I had a bad experience with the manager of the cabinets department (and they overcharged us for one of our cabinets) so we got out of there as quickly as possible, and I hope not to be back there anytime soon. After all that hassle, we went to Freighters for Happy Hour and a victory beer for all our hard shopping before heading back to the house to unload again. But oh man, what a long day! I was SO tired!
